3. Jeera Rice

Ingredients: - 1 cup basmati rice - 1 onion, sliced - 1 tsp cumin seeds - 2 cups water - 2 tbsp oil - Salt to taste Method: - Wash the rice and soak it in water for 30 minutes. - Heat oil in a cooking pot and add cumin seeds. - Add sliced onions and fry until golden brown. - Add soaked rice and fry for a minute. - Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. - Cover the pot and cook for 20-25 minutes on low flame. - Serve hot with dal or curry.
