- 2 tablespoons of capers
- 1/4 cup of tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Method
- Soak the salted codfish in water for at least 24 hours, changing the water every 6-8 hours.
- Drain the codfish and cut it into small pieces.
- In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the codfish to the pot and cook for 10 minutes.
- Drain the codfish and set it aside.
- In a frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, tomato, and garlic to the pan.
- Cook the vegetables for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the sliced olives, capers, tomato sauce, oregano, and black pepper to the pan.
- Stir the ingredients together and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked codfish to the pan and stir everything together.
- Cook the dish for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve the bacalao hot with rice, beans, and salad.
